The Night Enclave is a roleplay guild on Moonguard Alliance, with the mission to be a safe and welcoming space for all. We welcome both new and experienced roleplayers who have pacifist characters that are interested in cosmically-driven plotlines. The Night Enclave hosts monthly full moon soirées; in-character social events that are inspired by high-society balls. We have also recently begun to host out-of-character art parties, which are casual events for artists who are looking for art inspiration, and non-artists who would like their characters drawn. Please see the links above for additional information about us!

About the Enclave

The Night Enclave was born out of the desire to bring together those who want a sense of connection and community in World of Warcraft, but have struggled with cliques, in-groups, and exclusivity. We are a welcoming and inviting community with a heavy roleplay aspect surrounding astral magic and pacifism. Our goals:
- Promoting welcoming spaces for all, whether they are in the guild or not.
- Spreading positivity to others, both in guild-run events, and events hosted by other groups.
- Trying to engage especially with those who are by themselves on the outskirts of events, who may be too shy to walk up to others.
- Going out of our way to approach others who are looking for RP
- Creating a welcoming, kind, positive atmosphere in the city and at our events

IC Lore

This guild is run in-character by Caelum Mercroix, an ancient Highborne elf who received a faint calling from the constellar Algalon 13 000 years ago. Within his Titan-made prison, Algalon bestowed Caelum with the faintest echo of his power, allowing the elf to peer beyond the veil of the cosmos above, becoming one of Azeroth's first astromancers alongside Star Augur Etraeus in Suramar. This made him an innovator in the Highborne courts, but after the Sundering, it branded him as a heretic, and he was cast into the outskirts of every elven society he tried to assimilate into.Despite this isolation, Caelum still had the stars to guide him, and he was able to support himself by providing fortune-tellings for those who came to visit him in secret, under the cover of night. He was a reclusive spirit guide who gave advice to all those who needed it, but the more people who came to visit him, the more he realised that what many of them needed was someone to listen to them, and to help them get back on their feet. Drawn to him also were others who practised occult magicks, looking for a place to grow their craft. And so The Night Enclave was born, a cult in the eyes of civilized kaldorei, but a home for many others. In the 10 000 years since its first iteration, the numbers of the Enclave dwindled; especially since the opening of the Dark Portal, there weren't many ways of practising faith that were considered taboo. But Caelum remained devout and steadfast in his work, and was eventually duly rewarded. With Algalon's freedom from his Titan Chamber in Ulduar and the cessation of Reply Code Alpha, Algalon made himself known to the elf that had drawn on his power to ease the corruption from within the souls of mortals. He bestowed Caelum with a set of twinkling astral armor, and empowered his skills in divination.Currently, the commune is located in Elwynn Forest, outside of the gates of Stormwind City. Everyone works according to their strengths and skills to keep everything running smoothly.

OOC Info

Hi, I'm Riley! I've been playing WoW since 2013 and roleplaying since 2008. I started my WoW journey back on the EmeraldDream server, where it used to be just as lively as Moonguard is today, before transferring to Area52 and Illidan to devote my time to PvE. After finally achieving my goal of CE in Nerub'ar Palace, I decided I'm too old for that shit now, and have returned back to the RP experience!I've been in several roleplay guilds, and one of my biggest reasons for leaving most of them was the feeling of being disconnected. Whether the guilds were simply too large for me to be remembered in any meaningful way by anybody, or the cliques had already been so well-established that it felt like an inconvenience for them to be approached by anyone new, I felt like I spent more waiting around to get a word in than having meaningful roleplays. With The Night Enclave, I want to foster a strong sense of community and tailor the experience around what the current members are looking for. While we are not a content guild, there are several members of the community who enjoy running M+. We don't have any plans to start raid or pvp teams. If you have any questions about the guild or roleplaying, please reach out to me, @Chortanator on discord! My DMs are always open.

Joining the Enclave

If you're interested in joining our guild, please note that we have a strict stance on pacifism that is enforced for all in-character members. Violent criminal activity, threats, fights, and aggression will not be tolerated from any characters who are a part of the Enclave. Militaristic or cult-affiliated characters are not permitted in the guild, and those who require violence as part of their plot will not fit in to the space we've cultivated. We appreciate your understanding. The character archetypes who best fit into the Enclave are: researchers, scholars, astromancers, healers, diviners, oracles, apothecaries, and spirit guides, though this list is not exhaustive. While most members of the guild are kaldorei, dracthyr, or dragons, our guild is open to all Alliance races. We welcome personal interpretation and stretching of WoW's established lore, and actively encourage building upon what has been laid out in available content. We don't lore-police so long as it doesn't encroach upon the fun of others.

If you think that your character would be a good fit for the guild, please reach out to me on discord, @Chortanator! If your character wouldn't fit but you would still like to attend events, you are more than welcome to do so, and we invite you to join our discord with our "Social" role.

Art Party Info

What is an Art Party?

Art parties originated in Final Fantasy 14 as a social event for people to show off their outfits and for artists to draw them! It's a great place to meet new friends, with as much socialization as you're comfortable with. The event lasts several hours, with participants able to come and go as they please. During the event, artists will sketch/draw attendees, and share their work at the end!

Do I have to be an artist to participate?

Not at all! Non-artist attendees are just as welcome! More people means a greater pool of inspiration to draw from - your character might be exactly what an artist is looking for! You are invited to attend, chat, join the VC, and tune in to the artists' streams.

Where will the event be held?

Just like the full moon soirées, our art parties are hosted at my guild neighbourhood plot (The Night Enclave guild neighbourhood, Plot 39) in the hall to the left as you enter the house. You're encouraged to hang out where you like, whether your prefer to sit in a corner and draw from a distance, or find a spot at a table with others. The event will also be taking place in Discord VC, and multiple channels may be set up depending on how many people attend and wish to stream their work.

Will the Art Party be IC or OOC?

Because of the difficulty of drawing and roleplaying at the same time, our art parties will be OOC. We recommend that you set your TRP to OOC as a reminder to yourself and others for the duration of the event!

What type or level of art is expected from this event?

We welcome artists of all mediums and skill levels at our art party. Typically, artists at these types of events opt to go for multiple sketchy black & white portraits/busts, rather than fully rendered or fullbody art. But it's up to you what type of art you'd like to make! There's no pressure or minimum expectation.

How often will art parties be hosted?

We currently plan to offer this event twice a year. That number may increase or decrease depending on the popularity!

Where can I share my art after it's been created?

Posting your art in our Discord is the best way to ensure that the recipient sees it! But not everyone attending is part of the Discord. We recommend using the hashtag #TNEArtParty on social media alongside sharing your work there. If you don't have a server invite, please reach out to Riley on Discord, @chortanator!

How should I prepare for the event?

If your character differs from your in-game model, we recommend linking a reference sheet in your About section, and/or mentioning in your "Currently" what differs from what people can see at a glance. Wear your best outfit!
